Madikeri: Grandmother dies of shock after learning of grandson’s drowning

Madikeri: An incident where a grandmother died of a heart attack after seeing her grandson’s dead body, was reported from Somwarpet here on Friday morning.

Mubashir (18), had gone out to play with his friends but did not return home on Thursday night.

His friends stated that Mubashir had gone for a swim in the backwaters at Harangi in Suntikoppa, but did not come back.

Mubashir’s grandmother Rukia (62) collapsed and died when she heard this.

Mubashir’s body was retrieved on Friday morning.

A case was registered at Suntikoppa police station.
