Mahadayi is Karnataka's right, not 'khairaat,' says Surjewala

Bengaluru: Congress representative Randeep S Surjewala said Tuesday, explaining the gatherings on the Mahadayi dispute said that Karnataka has a privilege on the Mahadayi waterway and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has done little to enable individuals of the state to secure their rights.

The BJP had demanded Congress President Rahul Gandhi to take a reasonable remain on the Mahadayi debate, referring to a past stand purportedly taken by former AICC chief Sonia Gandhi that Karnataka would not get “a solitary drop of water.”

“Karnataka has a privilege on that water. It’s not khairaat (dole). What has Prime Minister Narendra Modi done to help get individuals their right? He needs to investigate his own particular soul to discover the response to this inquiry.” Surjewala said adressing a press conference. . “At the point when Karnataka’s right is being grabbed by a BJP government (in Goa), it makes the Prime Minister responsible,” he said.

Both the parties have involved in the slugfest on Mahadayi dispute. This arise of the Congress’ central government  comes a day after BJP president Amit Shah said that the Mahadayi dispute will see a positive outcome after the BJP comes to power in Karnataka.
