Man arrested for the murder of a man in a park at State Bank

Mangaluru: The police have arrested a man for the murder of Sharath (34) from Ballalbagh at a park near State Bank on May 7 which was reported the next day. The accused is identified as Lingappa (38), a resident of Kateel.

Sharath’s mortal remains were found in the park, covered by a concrete slab, with his head having been bashed with a tile. A case in this connection was registered with Pandeshwar police who investigated the murder. According to police sources, there are others involved in the murder and will be caught soon.

The motive for the murder remains elusive, however the police inform that both, the victim and the accused were drunk and the murder is supposed to have happened in a state of intoxication.
