The operation was conducted based on a definite tip off that a person is buying the banned Cocaine from Mumbai and selling the same in the city. Along with the arrest, CCB police confiscated 16 grams of cocaine, worth Rs 1,60,000 from the accused. Additionally, the cops also seized two mobile phones, a digital weighing scale and one Honda Activa scooter. The total value of the confiscated goods is said to be Rs 2,81,500.
The Economic and Narcotic police station has registered a case in this connection. Further investigation is being carried on the suspicion that more people may be involved in this racket.
The joint operation was conducted under the guidance of police commissioner Sandeep Patil, DCP law and order and Laxmi Ganesh, crime and traffic. Shivaprakash R Naik, led by CCB unit inspector, Ramakrishna, Economic and Narcotic police station inspector, Kabbal Raj and Shankari Nayari, PSIs and other personnel took part in the operation.
