Man axed to death by alcoholic son

Vijayapura: A 38-year-old youth allegedly axed his father to death in Chadchan Taluk of the district here on Wednesday, October 2 night.

The deceased has been identified as Annappa Thoravi (55).

The accused Sanjeeva Thoravi is an alcoholic and used to often pick up quarrels with his family members.

On Wednesday night, Sanjeeva arrived home drunk and began fighting with his wife. When Annappa tried to intervene in their fight, Sanjeeva in a fit of rage picked up an axe and assaulted his father thus killing him.

A case in this regard has been registered in Chadchan police station.
