Man goes missing at Bengaluru airport

Bengaluru: A 40 year old wheelchair bound man went missing from the Kempegowda International Airport on Tuesday morning.

It has been reported that, Richpal a native of Bhojpur in Rajasthan, was working as a labourer in a tiles factory in Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh.

Richpal had fractured his leg and was advised to be on bed rest. He planned to return home. due to the injury he could not travel by train. His relative Mukesh Kumar had booked a flight ticket from here to Jaipur.

On Tuesday Mukesh Kumar brought Richpal to KIA and dropped him in a wheelchair at Depature gate number 1. After confirming that he went inside the airport, Mukesh Kumar informed Richpal’s family to pick him up from Jaipur airport and left to Chittoor.

Later Richpal’s family called Mukesh stating that they could not find him at the airport. Mukesh came back to the KIA and enquired.

Mukesh later filed a missing complaint. The Airport police checked verified through the CCTV footage to find Richpal came out of the arrival gate on wheelchair. However the police did not find where he went and even there were no CCTV images to show his presence, a senior police officer said.

Further probe is on.
