Speaking on the occasion, the city’s police commissioner said that the helpline number can be called during any emergencies such as fire, accident, natural disasters, or crime reporting.
The older emergency helpline number of 100 has bee deactivated and any call made to that number will be rerouted to 112 ERSS helpline.
Director-General & Inspector General of Police Praveen Sood said that with the introduction of the ERSS system in the city the promise of ’15 and 15′ under the system has also reached the city – the call will be responded in 15 seconds and if necessary first responders will reach the place of distress in 15 minutes.
