The suspect in the Mangaluru blast case Mohammed Shariq is a resident of Thirthahalli in the Malnad region. He is a wanted terror accused who has been on the run for many months now.
Three police teams from Thirthahalli, Malur, and Agumbe police stations raided Shariq’s and his relative’s houses and seized material from the suspect’s house.
Meanwhile, Shariq is being treated at an Intensive Care Unit at a hospital in Mangaluru and is reportedly not in a position to talk. The autorickshaw driver, Purushottam is also being treated.

However, Karnataka DGP Praveen Sood on Sunday said that the incident was not an accident.
“It’s confirmed now. The blast was not accidental but an act of terror with the intention to cause serious damage. The police are probing the matter along with Central agencies,” the DGP tweeted.
