Mangaluru Chalo Rally Failed Following Lack of Support from Public: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah

Bengaluru: Mangaluru Chalo Rally organised by opposition BJP failed as the rally was unable to grab the attention of the people to get their support for the party’s move against the state government, said Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah registering his remark on the rally concluded in Mangaluru city here on Thursday afternoon.

Speaking to media persons in Bengaluru Siddaramaiah said, BJP is managed to gather only 3,000 party workers in the city contradicting its previous estimate to gather more than 10,000 party workers in Mangaluru city as part of the party convention. Speaking on the incidents of stone pelting, he said, such incidents are common while holding rallies, protests and others.

BJP unit in Karnataka was scheduled to conclude its Mangaluru Chalo rally at Nehru Maidan in Mangaluru city on Thursday with a bike rally from five cities of the state followed by a party convention at Nehru Maidan of Mangaluru city. However, the bike rally was stopped by the police at various parts of the state and the vehicles including the riders were taken into the custody after state government denied give its permission for the rally from five cities to Mangaluru.
