Mangaluru: Dead body in train toilet goes unnoticed for 24 hours!

Mangaluru: In a heart-wrenching incident, a man who was returning home on the Mumbai-Mangaluru train died in the toilet of the train and the dead body went back to Mumbai in the same train without being noticed by the train crew.

The deceased has been identified as Mohan Bangera (56), a native of Kinnigoli.

Mohan Bangera was returning from Mumbai on April 18 and was travelling in the B-3 coach of the Mumbai CST -Mangalore Junction train. His family members were waiting for him at Surathkal for his arrival. However, they received the news of Mohan Bangera’s disappearance from the train. His bag, purse, and mobile were found where he was sitting.

The family members then filed a missing complaint with the Railway Police in Mangalore Junction.

The next day, Mohan Bangera’s elder brother received a call from the Mumbai CST station informing him that his brother’s mortal remains were found in the toilet of the train. The family members were devastated as they had been searching for him all the way to Mumbai.

Bangera’s family alleged that the train crew who were supposed to inspect the toilet of the carriage had neglected their duty and gave a report that they had done the inspection.

An agency paid Rs. 10,000 for the post-mortem examination and sent the dead body back by train. However, when the parcel arrived in Mangaluru, the body had been decomposing and smelled bad, the family alleged.

The family members expressed their anger and demanded compensation for the negligence of the train crew.

Mohan Bangera was running a milk parlor in Mumbai for many years. He is survived by his wife and two sons who are now mourning his loss. The family members said that such a situation should not happen to anyone and demanded that the train crew be held accountable for their negligence.
