The accused, identified as Chandrasekhar alias Darling Chandra (29), hailing from Bidadi Hobli, Ramanagara District, was apprehended near Bangra Kuloor on November 4, police said.
The case pertains to an incident that occurred on October 21, when two unidentified individuals snatched a karimani necklace from a woman’s neck on Bijai Church Main Road under Mangalore East Police Station. Following this, a specialized team from the Mangalore CCB unit was mobilized to track down the culprits.
Police said that a 21.3-gram gold karimani chain, a VIVO mobile phone, a HERO keypad mobile phone, and a Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 Motorcycle were confiscated from the accused. The total value of the seized assets is estimated at Rs. 2,41,000/-.
