Mangaluru: Pedestrian dies after being run over by drunk PWD AEE

Mangaluru: An incident where a Public Works Department’s Assistant Executive Engineer drunk driving his car and running over a pedestrian instantly killing him was reported from the city’s Circuit House Road on Sunday night.

The deceased pedestrian has been identified as Anand, a retired BSNL employee.

Shanmugam, the Assistant Executive Engineer in the Mangaluru Sub Division of the Irrigation Department, has been arrested.

The entire incident, which took place at 9.53 pm on Sunday night, was caught on CCTV camera.

A case has been registered by Anand’s wife.
