The Sixth Additional District and Sessions Court in Mangaluru has sentenced five individuals to life imprisonment for their involvement in a case.
The incident occurred in 2016 when Ismail (59) of Pavoor, under the jurisdiction of Konaje Police Station, was found murdered. The convicted individuals include his wife Nebisa (40), her lover Jamal Ahmed (38) of Kuttarupadavu, Abdul Munaf alias Munna (41) of Ullal, Abdul Rehman (36) of Ullal, and Shabbir (31) of Boliyar.
Ismail, who had remarried Nebisa and had four children with her, was aware of her illicit relationship with Jamal and often objected to it, leading to frequent quarrels. Nebisa conspired with Jamal to eliminate Ismail. Jamal and his friend, auto-rickshaw driver Abdul Rehman, approached Abdul Munaf and offered a supari (contract killing) of Rs. 2.50 lakhs.
