Manipal: Bus catches fire; completely gutted

Manipal: A private bus caught fire and was gutted at the Tiger Circle here on Wednesday early morning.

The bus was on its way to Mangaluru from Kottur in Ballary. When it reached Tiger circle, a raging fire engulfed the bus.

An electric arc from a short circuit is suspected to have started the blaze.  Luckily, the fire was detected early as it first started near the bus driver’s seat and all the passengers were evacuated in time.

Fire tenders, who were called in immediately, doused the fire. However, the bus was completely gutted.
