Amid the coronavirus pandemic, the MCC had given time period till September end to pay property tax. This has now been extended till October 31, Mayor Diwakar told reporters here.
On issue of waste disposal, MCC commissioner Akshy Shridhar said that from October 2 onwards, the corporation will begin imposing fines, as per provisions of solid waste management bye laws 2019, if one fails to segregate dry and wet waste. Collection of wet waste will be done on a daily basis while the dry waste will be collected once a week i.e. on Fridays, he said.
Pointing out that the sale, use of plastic is prohibited in MCC limits, Shridhar said penalty ranging from Rs 1,500 up to Rs 25,000 will be imposed and cases will be filed against violators.
