Medical Council Cancels Admissions in Seven Medical Colleges

Puducherry: The Medical Council of India has scrapped off admissions of around 700 students to Seven Medical Colleges here.

The council stated the Colleges had admitted students last year in violation of rules under management quota.

The council further said that the Medical Colleges had admitted students who did not qualify the NEET test. NEET entrance exam have been made mandatory by the Supreme Court.

Chief Minister V Narayanasamy said the institutions that were responsible for the situation. “The Puducherry government had no role in it.”

The move by medical regulatory body came after Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi wrote to it in response to complaints from parents.
