According to the locals of Aranthodu, Kallugundi and Thodikana, the tremors lasted for a few seconds at around 4.30 pm.
On Tuesday morning, the locals in Sampaje had felt similar tremors at around 7.45 am. The items inside the houses fell down and the roofing sheets shook for seconds forcing people to run out of their houses.
Also, on June 25, an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.3 on the Richter scale was recorded, according to the report of state natural disaster monitoring centre. The tremor on that day was recorded at 9.09 am and the range was 4.7 km from the epicentre.
