He was greeted by the administrator Fr Ajith B Menezes, dean of the medical college Dr J P Alva, admin Thumbay Fr Sylvester and the medical superintendent Dr Uday Kumar on arrival at the entrance of the hospital.
The minister was then welcomed by the director of FMCI, Fr Richard A Coelho and administrator of the hospital Fr Rudolph Ravi D’Sa in the director’s chamber. The minister was apprised of the measures taken by the hospital to assist the government and people during this pandemic.
Later the minister was introduced to the heads of departments in the conference hall. A brief history of the institution was essayed by the director and the units of the institution were enumerated. The director on behalf of the institutions gifted the minister a khadi bedspread designed by the workers of the Father Muller Rehabilitation Center. The minister said that it is something unique to hear that the post-graduation began in the medical subject before the undergraduate course in the Father Muller Charitable Institutions.

Later he was escorted to the Father Muller Simulation Center, where he was shown the state-of-the-art simulation models used to teach medical students and the general public. The simulation centre has been recognized as the Center of Excellence by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru. The minister was explained that the clinical simulations are activities that mimic the reality of a clinical environment and are designed to provide learners with opportunities to learn in a safe, friendly and risk-free controlled environment. The minister was also demonstrated a few of the lifesaving procedures. Dr Lulu Sharief briefed the minister that the centre has the American Heart Association (AHA) certification.
Along with the minister were RGUHS senate members, Dr Shivasharan Shetty, Dr Ifthikar Ali and Dr Sharan Shetty. Fr Roshan Crasta, administrator, Father Muller Homeopathic Medical College, Fr Nelson Deeraj Pais, assistant administrator, FMMCH and the management committee members were present during the visit.
