Minor girl raped: Accused arrested

Belthangady: In the backdrop of a complaint being registered at Dharmasthala police station regarding the rape of a minor girl, the police have arrested the accused identified as Akshat, a resident of Ashoknagar in Dharmasthala and produced him in the court.

In her complaint to the police, the minor girl states that when the girl pressurized the accused to marry her since she is now pregnant because of him, the accused allegedly gave death threat to the victim.

The boy is a friend of the girl and it is alleged that the boy had coitus with the minor girl when she was at home by promising to marry her. The case has been registered under Pocso Act.
