Possibility of kidnapping

Initially, when the trawler went mysteriously missing along with its crew of 7 fishermen, it was presumed that the fishermen might have been kidnapped and hence the police of Karnataka, Maharashtra, coast guard and the navy conducted operations throughout the coast of Maharashtra. When no leads were found in this course of investigation, the officials felt that the possibility of the fishermen being kidnapped were slim. Later, it was presumed that the boat might have sunk and since the last two weeks, operations are being conducted to locate the wreckage on the sea bed.
