Doctors have advised her to stay in home quarantine until May 5.

Hebbalkar had tested positive while campaigning during the Belgaum Lok Sabha by-election.

She has appealed to the general public not to come to meet her until May 5.

“18 people from my family and assistants tested positive for COVID-19. Some have been treated and cured at home while others were advised hospitalization 6 days ago,” she said.

“No one should take COVID-19 lightly. Everybody must stay safely at home and must come out only if it is inevitable following proper safety measures. Government must extend the lockdown for a few days otherwise it will become difficult to protect people,” she added.
