The woman, Aditi Suresh Karopady, was to board the Air India flight to Mangaluru at 3:45 pm on July 17 and had accordingly arrived at the airport.

She had carried only her RT-PCR test report as told to her by the Kuwait-based travel agent. However, at the airport authorities asked her to present her baby’s test report as well which she did not possess.

Shocked she immediately called a Mangaluru-born NRI businessman in Kuwait who got in touch with an assistant of Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje who through her contacts in the External Affairs Ministry cleared Aditi baby’s boarding process.

Fortunately for Aditi, Air India officials at the Kuwait airport delayed the flight for 30 minutes and asked her to get permission within that period to board the flight.
