The accused, identified as Mohammad Asif (33), a resident of Hosangadi, Kasaragod district, was taken into police custody.
Incident Details:
The attack took place during a mediation session at the Ullal Police Station regarding a minor accident that occurred on the Thokkottu flyover on Wednesday, October 16 night. The accident involved cars driven by Sharath from Kumpala and Ibrahim Khalil from Kerala. Following the accident, Khalil and his brother Asif allegedly assaulted Sharath, leading to a case being registered at the police station.

Friends of Arjun intervened and Asif was taken into police custody. The entire incident was captured on the station’s CCTV.
Arjun, who suffered injuries in the attack, was admitted to a private hospital in Deralakatte for treatment. A formal complaint has been filed against Asif at the Ullal police station.
Protest by Hindu Activists:
As news of the assault spread, Hindu activists gathered outside the police station around midnight, demanding that the police hand over the accused to them. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Siddharth Goyal and Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Dhanya Nayak rushed to the scene and tightened security around the station.
BJP District President Satish Kumpala and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Gopal Kuthar visited the station, urging the police to take strict action against the accused.
Arun Puthila Demands Strict Action:
Hindu leader Arun Puthila also visited the station. Puthila met with DCP Siddharth Goyal, demanding severe action against the accused for the assault that took place inside the police station.
The situation remains tense as police continue to investigate the incident and maintain heightened security at the station.
