Mobile phone found in women’s toilet: Minor detained

Mangaluru: A mobile phone was discovered in the women’s toilet of a private hospital here, prompting an investigation by college authorities and law enforcement.

The phone was found when it began ringing alerting the college’s security guard.

Upon seizing the device, authorities swiftly initiated legal proceedings, with a case registered under North PS Cr No 57/2024, citing Section 354C of the Indian Penal Code.

The accused, a 17-year-old male, purportedly gained access to the college premises under the guise of a patient.

He was detained and presented before the Juvenile Justice Board in accordance with established protocols.
