Monsoon Session of Karnataka Assembly to Start from First Week of June

Bengaluru: Monsoon session of Karnataka state legislative assembly will begin from first week of June 2017. The decision came following the union government’s decision to implement Goods and Service Tax in the country from July 1, 2017. Usually, the monsoon session of the assembly starts either in first or second week of the July.

In a cabinet meeting here on Wednesday, it is decided to get approval from the assembly on GST Act for its proper implementation in the state. The government will also try to get approval for various schemes and programmes announced in the Karnataka state budget 2017-18.

The cabinet meeting has also decided to reappoint 38 Anganwadi workers who were dismissed from their service after they contested in the elections held for local self government in Karnataka. The anganwadi workers reappointed based on the certain conditions.
