As per reports, Sankalp Parihas was given some mango saplings by a man while travelling on a train to Chennai. The couple, Sankalp and Rani planted two of the saplings in their orchard. Little did they know that the two mango saplings will grow and bear ruby-colored mangoes, the Japanese Miyazaki.

Miyazaki mangoes are one of the most expensive breeds of mangoes in the world. They were sold at Rs 2.70 lakh per kilogram in the international market last year.

Hindustan Times reported that thieves broke into the orchard last year after it became known that the trees grew the rare mangoes. The couple managed to save the trees.

This year, however, the couple are taking no chances and have deployed four guards and six dogs to protect the rare trees and the mangoes.
