On August 28, the accused, Prasad (30), a Venoor resident who had been arrested in the 2018 murder case of Sudarshan Jain of Moodbidri was released on bail. The very next day (on August 29) he is said to have forcibly abducted and raped a minor girl at an isolated spot and threatened to murder her if she revealed about the incident to anyone.
The victim, however, narrated her ordeal to her parents who filed a police complaint at Venoor station. Prasad was arrested on Friday, August 30.
