Muslims and Christians offer horekanike to Paryaya

Udupi: The Paryaya celebrations in the city bring people of different communities together participate.  For instance, Muslim and Christian organisations have donated vegetables, rice and other commodities to the temple as part of the horekanike towards Paryaya.

On Tuesday, blood donation camp was organized by the multi-community Sri Pejawara Blood Team, the All College Students Union, Udupi, and the Udupi Zilla Muslim Bandhavara Paryaya Sauhardha Samithi.

The Pejawara Blood Team has over 1,800 members from various religions including about 850 Muslims and Christians.

Udupi Zilla Muslim Bandhavara Paryaya Sauhardha Samithi plans to plant of one lakh saplings and an organ donation camp.

Vidyadheesha Teertha Swami of the Palimar Mutt will be ascending the Paryaya Peetha at the 800-year-old Sri Krishna Mutt on January 18.
