Mysuru doctor saves co-passenger's life in flight, gifted 100€ voucher by Air France

Bengaluru/Mysuru: A 69-year-old doctor from Mysuru has received a special thanks and a gift voucher of 100 Euros from the Air France airline as a token of appreciation for his professional services that helped save the life of an elderly person travelling on board tts flight from Paris and Bengaluru last month.

On Novemeber 13, Prabhulingaswamy Sanganalmath, a retired government physician was on the Air France flight to Bengaluru from Paris when a co-passenger, a European senior citizen collapsed suddenly. 

Dr. Sanganalmath responded to the cabin crew’s request for medical assistance and found that the man was not breathing and had no pulse. Duly assisted by a nurse on board the flight Dr. Sanganalmath gave a cardiac message to the man and followed it by a resuscitation process. 

“The air hostesses brought the emergency health kit and oxygen tank. The oxygen supplemented resuscitation was carried out,”  said the doctor said adding that the patient started responding to the treatment. The patient remained under observation until the flight landed in Bengaluru and he was then taken to the airport clinic in a wheelchair.

After the flight landed in Bengaluru, the flight captain came upto Dr. Sanganalmath and expressed his gratitude for the help extended by him. The next day itself the doctor got a message from Vincent Feuillie of Air France Passenger Medical Service thanking him for the timely medical assistance. "Now, the airline has offered me a voucher worth 100 Euros as a token of appreciation,” said the doctor, adding that he had done no more than his duty.
