Mysuru: Huge fire engulfs firecracker godown

Mysuru: In a major incident, a massive fire broke out at a firecracker godown located near the Bommanahalli Lake in Hebbal Industrial Area here on Wednesday afternoon. The incident has reportedly caused a significant loss of property and aquatic life in the area.

Due to the intensity of the explosion, a large number of aquatic animals in the Bommanahalli Lake were reportedly killed.

According to sources, the godown was storing a huge consignment of fireworks required for celebrations during the upcoming election season. As soon as the fire broke out, the explosives burst continuously, creating a loud noise and flames, which could be seen from afar.

Firefighters rushed to the spot to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby areas.

Eyewitnesses reported that the fire was so massive that it could be seen from several kilometers away. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, and more details are awaited.
