Mysuru: Right-wing activists assault chief editor of Urdu newspaper

Mysuru: Right-wing activists assaulted a Mysuru-based journalist of an Urdu daily during a protest against the demolition of temples in Mysuru.

The incident happened in Kote Anjaneya Swamy temple in Nanjangud taluk of Mysuru.

Mohammed Safdar Kaiser, the chief editor of ‘The Daily Kausar’, a local Urdu newspaper, was assaulted by the protestors suspecting him to be an ‘unknown’ person at their protest.

It is said that he was recording the speech of Hindu Jagaraa Vedike leader Jagadish Karanth when a group of Right-wing activists raised an objection to record the event. They demanded Kaiser to delete the recording.
