The Swami, who is said to be from Mandya district is camping in the city for Chaturmasya Vratha.
Apart from the Swami, the lady, in her complaint has also accused her husband of allowing the seer to sexually exploit her. Based on the complaint the police have named her husband Rajesh Bore as accused no. 1 and the Swami as accused no. 2 in the FIR.
The woman alleged that her husband asked her to meet the Swamiji at the Srirama Mandira and follow his advise, as it would sort out their financial and other problems. The woman, however, did not heed to his request. Later on September 4 night, she stated that the seer, few of his disciples and her husband arrived at their house and abused her physically for refusing to meet the Swami. Later, the seer dragged her into a room and sexually harassed her. He even set her clothes on fire, she alleged.

A case has been registered under IPC 1860 (U/s – 354(A) (sexual harassment), 354(B) (use of criminal force to woman with intent to disrobe),149 (unlawful assembly), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), 448 (house trespass), 506 (criminal intimidation), 307 (attempt to murder), 363 (kidnapping), 354 (making sexual remarks) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt).
City Police Commissioner A.S. Subrahmanyeswara Rao has assured of an impartial probe into the incident.
