Around 158 passengers had to be evacuated from a train at 10:35 am as it was stranded 200 metres away from the station. Three other trains coming to Byappanahalli had to be terminated at SV Road and Indiranagar, which resulted in the crowding of other stations like those at the Majestic Interchange and MG Road. But by around 11 am, the problem was rectified and the services returned to their normal state.
While they were stranded, passengers vented their frustration on social media by tweeting about the problem. Later, BMRCL stated that a total of 16 tokens worth Rs. 340 were refunded at Byappanahalli, Indiranagar and Mysuru Road stations.
