Scientists from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) have released the blueprint, via an open-source licence, for a wearable that warns users against touching their faces to help cut the risk of Covid-19 transmission.

The necklace is called Pulse which has a  3D-printed pendant that uses a proximity sensor and vibrates if your hand approaches. The vibrations get stronger the closer your hand is to your face

If the wearer lifts their hands toward their face, a proximity sensor will detect this and, using power from a common button battery, cause the necklace to vibrate.

Pulse is designed to be affordable and simple to make so it can be reproduced by anyone. Assembly instructions and a list of parts are open-source and free for public use.
