In a media release, Kini responded to the critique against Congress by BJP District President Kishore Kumar during a progress review meeting of the party’s election campaign leaders.
Kini, in a biting retort, pointed out the irony in BJP leaders preaching about party discipline while “conveniently forgetting their missteps.” He referenced an incident in Kundapura where senior BJP leader BS Yeddyurappa faced embarrassment as he was confronted by a large crowd protesting against MLA Haladi Srinivas Shetty. Challenging the BJP president to assess the engagement of Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar and MP Shobha Karandlaje with the district, Kini suggested that BJP leaders refrain from throwing stones while residing in glass houses.
