The iron bridge in question, situated in the villages of Attikoodige and Abbekallu in Koppa taluk, lacks any base or wooden planks for people to walk on, making crossing it a perilous task.
Constructed three years ago, the iron bridge still remains unfinished. Residents must navigate the bridge by stepping on iron beams placed about two feet apart. A misstep could result in a potentially deadly fall, into a fast-flowing river filled with rocks below.
Locals say the situation worsens during the rainy season, especially when tourists visit the area. They often venture onto the incomplete bridge to take selfies.
