No positive cases of coronavirus in state, says Sriramulu

Bengaluru: Health Minister Sriramulu on Saturday said that there are no positive cases of coronavirus in the state so far.

Addressing presspersons at his residence Sriramulu said, “There are no positive cases of coronavirus in Karnataka, the health department is working in a disciplined manner. So far 72542 have been screened at all the airports in the state out of which 49,594 were in Bengaluru airport itself.”

“So we have collected the blood sample of 343 and the samples have been sent for laboratory, Isolation wards have also ready in all the districrs. In India so far 30 cases have been confirmed and everyone’s is trying to tackle the issue.” he informed.

As per guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of the central government, lab-testing for coronavirus will be done for people with symptoms (cough, cold, running nose or difficulty in breathing) and having travel history to any of coronavirus-affected countries during last 14 days or those who have had contact with coronavirus-positive persons.

Global deaths due to coronavirus outbreak on Monday rose above 3,000 with the new count in China mainland rising to 2,912. The deadly virus, that originated in China late last year, continues to spread around the world and has infected more than 80,000 people.
