No summer vacation after exams, says DyCM Ashwath Narayan

Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister Dr CN Ashwath Narayan said that there will be no summer vacation in the 2021-22 academic year.

Speaking to reporters after attending the 8th convocation of the Sanskrit University here on Saturday he said, “At the university level, all examinations of undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and engineering courses, will have no change in their schedule.”

“None of the activities for the academic year 2021-22 will change and there will be no summer vacations after the examinations are over. Classes will begin in both offline and online mode. Students will compulsorily have to choose one mode,” he said.

“Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the comprehensive Learning Management System (LMS) was implemented. Students can learn from wherever they are and in aid of this about 1.60 lakh students studying in government colleges will be given tablet computers this year,” the minister informed.

Responding to a question on proper content being uploaded in the Learning Management System, Ashwath Narayan replied, “We will fix it immediately. I will talk to concerned people about this. Karnataka is the first State in the country to implement such a system. We will rectify the problems soon.”
