Nothing but childish response can be expected from BJP: HDK

Bengaluru: Former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy has posted a series of tweets reacting to the responses made by BJP leaders on his CD containing the videos of December 19 Mangalore violence.

Following are the tweets:

1. “There’s no meaning to it, they’re all cut and pasted video,” said CM. “What else can be expected from the BJP,” I had said. They proved me right.

2. If you have the courage then get the CD tested for its authenticity from experts. Before that ask your conscience. Do you think my CD too is the same ‘cut and paste’ job as was the formation of your government?

3. DCM Lakmana Sawadi said that Kumaraswamy is frustrated after losing the bye-elections and hence has released the CD. So what was his frustration when he was watching the obscene video in the House?

4. “Police don’t start riots, they stop it. Even during Kumaraswamy’s government, this police were the same,” the Home Minister had said. During my government, the police maintained law and order and were not used as you do to fire and cause riots.

5. The police were the same in my government too, I agree. But why were there no police firings and riots during my government? Would you answer that?

6. Sadananda Gowda reacted sarcastically on my CD. He said that for some CDs are a political asset. There are more CDs of the BJP, if they are ever released, BJP will be exposed. CDs have been BJP’s political asset. Sadananda Gowda be cautious while talking of CDs.

7. “Mangaluru is peaceful. Kumaraswamy tried to create a political space for his party by trying to foment violence,” said sister Shobha Karandlaje. Stifling the many free voices in Mangaluru is that what she calls ‘peace.’

8. “Muslim throw stones at the devil in Mecca, do you think the police are devils to throw stones at them,” sister Shobha had said. So what does she have to say about those police personnel who threw stones on the protesters?

9. I don’t have to make the Mangaluru issue political. It is you who are disturbing the city with communal politics. Mangaluru should be the commercial capital of Karnataka but you are turning it into communal politics capital.

10. Most coastal areas in the world are thriving commercial hubs. Even cities such as Mumbai, Chennai, Kochi are proof of it. Some of the largest banks in India were born in this coastal region. Mangaluru too could be one such hub but our petty politics has created bottlenecks in exploring such opportunities.

11. If Mangaluru is peaceful then we can make it into a prosperous commercial and financial city. It can be a model for the country. For this to happen BJP must be toppled.

12. I should not politicise the Mangaluru incident advises sister Shobha. But as the leader of a political party and its legislative unit, why should I not be political about it? Is there any such restriction on me? I will politically raise Mangaluru’s issues. But unlike BJP, I will be truthful.
