Mulbagal MLA H Nagesh and Ranebennur MLA R Shankar submitted a letter to the Governor announcing withdrawal of their support from the Kumaraswamy-led government. Both the MLA’s are likely to return to Bengaluru from Mumbai today (Tuesday).

Shankar who withdrew support from the ruling Congress-JD(S) said that he wanted to initiate some developmental work in his constituency but the coalition government did not give him any scope for it. The functioning of the government is not up to the mark, therefore he wants to withdraw his support.

He further clarified that no one forced him to withdraw his support.

Nagesh accused the alliance of failing to provide good and stable government and announced that he would join the BJP.
