He added that paying of fees for such online classes must also be stopped.

Speaking at a press conference, he said there were complaints in the state about the online classrooms. We had a meeting about this. All have expressed the view that online learning is not an alternative to classroom learning. There was also the discussion that education should be not completing the syllabus, but intellectual progress.

Taking fees for online classes in the state should be stopped immediately. No educational institutions should raise school fees during this time of hardship. The government has already issued a circular in this regard, he said.

I have convened meetings in all 34 education districts about the holding of SSLC exams during the COVOD-19 crisis. All preparations are done. The Department of Health, Department of Transportation and the Home Department have joined hands with us for the examination, he added.

We have arranged facemasks for all students. We will give two or three masks per student and sanitizer before coming to the examination room. We will also conduct health checks. In case of illness, separate arrangements will be made, he said.

We have received information about all the students. We have arranged transportation for those who will need government transportation to reach the examination centre. All arrangements have been made to ensure that no student in the State is unable to appear for the examination due to transportation problems, he added.
