Orange Alert: Kodagu district administration declares holiday for schools, colleges on July 9

Kodagu: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for the district. Alerted by the weather report, the district administration has declared a holiday for schools and colleges on July 9.

For the past week, the district has been receiving very heavy downpours due to which landslide incidents have been reported. Recently, in the hilly area of Monnangeri, a landslide occurred which damaged several coffee plantations.

As per the sources, there are fears that rains may cause further landslides on the hilly slopes.
