The Congress party has raised objections, asserting that the project should align with the sentiments of the coastal populace. The irregularities in the projects have hurt the sentiments of the coastal people, Congress leader Udaya Kumar Shetty Muniyalu said and urged an investigation by the government and district administration. Additionally, Congress leaders K. Krishnamurthy Acharya and Ramesh Kanchan demanded swift action against those found responsible for any wrongdoing after a thorough investigation.
In contrast, the BJP has insisted on compliance with a High Court order allowing the continuation of the project. Naveen Nayak, the president of BJP’s Karkala unit, emphasized the need for security to facilitate the project’s progress, highlighting alleged attempts by some Congress members to hinder the development.
