Although, the biscuit brand did not reveal its specific sales numbers, it stated that the biscuit brand clocked its best sales in over eight decades during the lockdown period of March, April and May.
Amid lockdown, people stocked Parle G biscuits at home while migrant workers preferred these low cost biscuits while they trekked hundreds of kilometres to get home. Many also brought tons of parle g biscuits to feed their neighbourhood dogs.
Mayank Shah, Category Head of Parle Products said that their overall market share has increased by 5 per cent and 80-90 per cent of this growth has come from the Parle-G sales.
