Passengers face problem after train fails to stop at the station

Byndoor: Although there is a stop at the Mookambika railway station here, the Jaipur-Ernakulum train which arrived here at 5 pm on Saturday evening failed to stop at the station and simply carried on with its journey, thereby causing trouble to the hundreds of passengers who were waiting to board the train at the railway station.

However, the Konkan railway officials responded immediately and sent the 40 passengers who had booked the tickets at Byndoor station and other passengers to Udupi station via the Karwar-Bengaluru train which came almost half-an-hour later. The left behind passengers later boarded the Jaipur-Ernakulum train at Udupi and carried on with their journey.

This is the first time such a mistake has occurred in the history of Konkan railways. By responding immediately, all types of arrangements were made to make sure that the passengers were not troubled. The locopilot of the station jumping train will be subjected to an inquiry to clarify on why the mistake occurred, informed Konkan railways Public Relations Officer Sudha Krishnamurthy with ‘Udayavani’.
