This decision comes after almost 90 engineering colleges, that offered PG courses, requested the cancellation of PG courses which were not in demand. Registrar of VTU, H.N. Jaganatha Reddy said that since industries are not opting for PG students, most students prefer to go for two years of practical experience in industries over two years of a PG course.

Reddy also informed that the VTU will conduct thorough research and will introduce new PG courses from the academic year 2019-20, based on the market needs.
