Modi in his speech said, “This is a laudable achievement, and is the power of his talent and imagination. This is the pride of Mangaluru. All TV channels queued up for his interview,”

“However, the vector image has not gone down well with a section of the political arena, which painted it with a communal angle,” Modi said.

Acharya’s portrait of Lord Hanuman, half-vermilion half-black image had created a rage across the country. The image attained much popularity.

It has been learnt that, the image came through when a group of youth in Kumble near Kasaragod asked him to design a saffron-tinged Hanuman for the Ganesha festival in September 2015. Till then, they were using ‘Om’ flag for their festive celebration. They wanted to have Hanuman’s image in the flag, and the change met their expectation. Thereafter, the vector art, done just under an hour, gained popularity in Kumble and beyond.
