Karnataka High Court recently ordered the return of all vehicles seized after their owners violated the lockdown.
According to the Department:
1. Seized vehicle owners must first visit the traffic police station and clear the fine if any in old pending case/s. 2. After receiving the clearance receipt from the traffic police station, the owner must then go to the Law and Order station. A photocopy of the vehicle records should be provided here, pay the stipulated fine and get another receipt.

4. The owner then must go to the vehicle dispersal site where, if all papers are found to be correct, the vehicle will be delivered to them and if not then the owners will have to wait till court decision on the matter.
The police can set a fine of Rs 500 for two-wheelers and Rs 1000 for four-wheelers and must provide a receipt for any fine received.
