Prakash Raj expresses concern over education becoming luxury in the state

Mysuru: Actor Prakash Rai has communicated concern that the education was being made an extravagance of the rich. He claimed that the greater part of the private schools were making money by creating a dread that government school education was poor.

Talking at the French Rocks Government School on June 11, Prakash said that the poor couldn’t afford to educate their children by paying a heavy donation, fees and so forth in privavte schools. He also said that, the current facilities in government schools were not helpful for learning. “This endless loop has denied the poor of access to quality education”, he said. 

Prakash likewise communicated his longing to work with the governemnt to enhance the quality of education in the governemnt run schools in the state. “I will talk to the government to develop government schools from the root level”, he said. Praising the change of French Rocks School by its Development Committe to the standards that compete with private schools, he said, “The transformation achieved in this school will be a model for me in my battle to develop thousands of government schools in the state.”

He said that development of education did not end with building the school structure, giving furniture or giving food. “Children should have the capacity to think and reason for themselves,” he included. For general development of the children, he said the schools ought to enhance their environment, engage students in social and sports activities. “There is a need to get a radical change the educational framework and method of teaching in the state”, he said.
