The state BJP has been working hard to make this event a milestone in the History of Karnataka politics. The roads leading to the Palace grounds have been draped in saffron. Every available space at the venue of Modi’s election rally is filled with BJP flags, banners and flexes welcoming the Prime Minister.

Narendra Modi is expected to land at HAL airport at 3:30 pm and reach the venue in a helicopter. Modi’s speech will begin at 4 pm.

The rally is said to mark a conclusion to the BJP’s 85 days Navakarnataka Nirmana Parivarthana. A huge 40 x 80 feet stage measuring 40 x 80 feet has been set up at a height of 20 feet from the ground. Arrangements have been made for 22 leaders to sit on the dais.

The Pro-Kannada organisation which is led by Vatal Nagaraj will observe a ‘black day’ seeking Prime Minister’s involvement in resolving the Mahadayi river water dispute with neighbouring state Goa. Bengaluru bandh was called on earlier on February 4th by the Pro- Kannada organisation, but it was declared unconstitutional and illegal by the Karnataka High Court.
